Law's foundations

"Indeed, the problem of law's ultimate foundations need not be understood solely in terms of a hierarchy of coercion. Even if we (temporarily) set aside force, coercion, sanctions, and the various external motivations to legal compliance, the very same regress appears if we consider the question of legal validity. We know that laws are made valid by other laws, and those other laws by still other laws, and so on, until we run out of laws. But what determines the validity of the highest law? What keeps the entire structure from collapsing? On what does the validity of an entire legal system rest?"

Η μουσική σήμερα, από τa cd του σπουδαίου Καταλανού Jordi Savall, ο οποίος έχει ερευνήσει και αναδείξει μουσικές αυθεντικές διαφόρων περιοχών του κόσμου, διαφόρων χρονικών περιόδων.

Τον ανέφερα σήμερα, πρώτη μέρα του μαθήματος Seminar in International Business Transactions, του εαρινού εξαμήνου, στους αλλοδαπούς φοιτητές Erasmus. Η αφορμή ήταν πως μεταξύ των φοιτητών είναι μια Μολδαβή και ένας Γάλλος από την Τουλούζη.

Η τραγωδία των Καθαρών: επρόκειτο για μια θρησκευτική ομάδα με ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά, στην περιοχή κοντά στην Τουλούζη, Γαλλία. Ψάξτε το, έχει πολύ ενδιαφέρον. Δυστυχώς δεν έχω τη δυνατότητα να γράψω εδώ περισσότερα, έχω ΠΟΛΛΗ δουλειά και τρέχουν οι ώρες σαν νερό...

O Dimitrie Cantemir (Дми́трий Константи́нович Кантеми́р/Dmitriy Konstantinovich Kantemir) ήταν Μολδαβός ηγεμόνας, εκπληκτική μορφή της διανόησης: φιλόσοφος, συνθέτης, ιστορικός, εθνογράφος, γλωσσολόγος. Έζησε μόνο 50 χρόνια και πρόλαβε να κάνει όσα δεν κάνουν πολλοί άνθρωποι μαζί σε διπλάσια χρόνια.
